Are you user led?

'User-led' is a term used to refer to people planning, designing and implementing services for others in similar circumstances.

For example a company providing services to visually impaired children for holidays would be user led if children with visual impairments were fully involved in saying what types of servics they would like and in which way.

A group of wheelchair users who had no experience of being visually impaired (or visually impaired adults) would not 'count' as a user led service in the above situation. E.g. just because a person is 'labelled' disabled, does not make them the most appropriate people to design or implement services.

A group of dog owners developing services for other dog owners would also be 'user led'. It is about shared experience.

The idea is the same.

On this principle, we are user-led and experience information specific needs because we have impairments.

As such we can offer you a high quality of services where impairment is not our only qualification.
