Disability Equality Training aimed at improving the experiences of disabled visitors to museums, galleries, parks and heritage sites.

 

museum exhibitOpen to All (4x half day)

A training package designed to encourage museums and galleries to involve people with experience of mental health problems to create a more accessible and inclusive environment for all their users. Commissioned by a partnership of NSIP,the Museums, Libraries and Archives Council, the V&A, Tate Modern, The Wallace Collection and Portugal Prints, and developed by the University of Nottingham, Nottinghamshire County Teaching PCT and the Lost Artists Club.

Beginner courses, intermediate and management level available.

Ideal for companies who want to maintain or improve equality for both disabled employees and customers. Equality and diversity is examined through the professional and personal experiences of disabled people. Participants look at the effects of discrimination and understand the importance of diversity, equality and social inclusion.

Advanced course look in more depth at legislation and practice. Available as 1, half or 1.5 day courses. We also run course which focus on either the public or private sector.

A 1 day course specifically focusing on disability equality during the recruitment and selection processes of advertising, application processes and interviewing/selection.

people talkingCommunicate with confidence

A course designed to overcome communication barriers and feel confident talking to people with a range of impairments that affects communication.

canine partner assistingDisability Assistance (Half day)

Discover the unique role of the different types of assistance that disabled people may utilise at work, education, leisure and around the home. (Personal Assistance, canine support, interpreters).
