Equality in Practice (1 Day)
Course Fee £750 (SCALE A)
A Disability Equality day course covering:
- Disability Equality legislation
- Attitudes and etiquette / interaction / appraches to impairment and equality.
- Responsibilties of businesses to comply with the DDA.
- Current Disability and Equality Issues
- Disability Discrimination Act and what it means for you.
If you are looking for what you might know as 'DDA Training' then the above course would be the one required.
Aware and Able (half-day)
Course Fee £480 (Scale A)
An entry level awareness course, ideal as part of an induction programme, covering :-
- Understanding disability and disability equality.
- Attitudes and etiquette / approaches - an introduction.
- Plus a summary of the Disability Discrimination Act and what it means for you.
Information Provision (half-day)
Course Fee £130 per person or £690 per group (SCALE B)
- Ideal for those who are responsible for signage, customer literature , displays, verbal signposting, customer care (personal or over the phone etc), help desk staff, HR staff etc.
Disability Assistance (half-day)
Course Fee £480 (SCALE A)
Understanding the role of the following types of assistance includes interactions, etiquette, role etc.
- Interpreter
- Assistance animals
- Personal Assistance
Communicating with confidence (2 Hours)
Course Fee £360 (SCALE B)
A course designed to overcome communication barriers and feel confident talking to people with a range of impairments which effects communication.
- Ideal for front-line staff or as a refresher.
- Can also be used for developing general communication skills within an organisation.
Meet and Greet (2 Hours)
Course Fee £360 (SCALE B)
An entry level course:-
- Looks at behaviors, language and basic communication skills in relation to meeting and greeting people with impairments.
Medical Conditions (3 Hours)
Course Fee £420 (SCALE B)
These courses are designed to support staff who will be working with people with impairments or supervisors of disabled staff or volunteers. Sometimes, understanding a person's impairment and it's general effects can help with ensuring a positive experience in the work place or as a volunteer.
