Louise Watch is a freelance trainer and consultant, specialising in disability equality, health and social care. Whilst completing her degree in medicine (1994), she began a 9 year period of service for the British Red Cross Society. This involved training delivery / assessment to equip volunteers with advanced emergency skills and knowledge. She was also actively involved in delivering emergency crises care, public first aid training and promoting community health awareness with local PCTs.
Louise established 'TurnAround' in 1999 gaining a customer base which included the University of Hertfordshire and national training for SM&MS (shopping centre managers) and Arthritis Care. She later became a change management consultant for Hertfordshire PASS as they moved to become a registered charity and direct payment support service provider.
In 2003 she was employed by Kent County Council as direct payment co-ordinator and support service manager. Louise gained her MA (distinction) in Disability Studies and left in 2007 to return to freelance work. She is now a leading consultant and trainer within self directed support with an expanding portfolio of specialised work with local authorities and 3rd party providers.
Having an impairment and using personal assistant isn't our only qualification.
