The local authority had three modules focusing on direct payments policy and procedure which had been recently revised.

 

 

Here are some of the things we included:

  • All aspects of Direct Payments were incorporated following current legislation, guidance and local policy (and role and function of the support service).
  • Step by step guide to making direct payments according to policy and procedure.
  • Individual module on capacity and consent having identified this as a staff need.

 

  • Encouragement of creativity through case studies that were challenging and informative about how direct payments could be used.
  • Example of costing direct payments.
  • Promoting equality and independent living when working with service users.

  • Self learning through quizzes, short paragraph answers and other responses.
  • Progress tracking and certification for learners.
  • Access to health service providers and all partnership organisations.

    • Documents and staff guides to key topics.
    • Policy documents
    • News bulletin page for updates and information
    • Frequently asked questions and answers - over 100 of the most common questions with detail answers and policy references/content. Searchable through key words and topics in a 'blog style'.
